Patches

Post by Drab on Fri Nov 06, 2009 9:51 am

I've just had Patches spayed and expected her to be a little subduded for a couple of days, WRONG if it wasn't for the shaved patch of fur on her side and the small wound you wouldn't even know she'd had anything done. She was back to pouncing on Max within hours in the end i put a cage up and shut her in for a few hours for my own piece of mind. Her wound is healing nicely and she is back to owning the garden, she has her stitches out next Thursday and Sam and Nancy go for their boosters on the Friday, the vet nurse did ask if i wanted an appointment for them all at the same time, i know i'm good but even i can't manage a dog aggressive dog, a jelly dog that will be hiding under the chairs and a cat that thinks she's a dog and will be showing her disgust at being in a carrier!! Shocked

What a scare!

Post by Drab on Fri Dec 11, 2009 10:42 am

Patches spent her first night out last night, in the frosty cold night. She loves being out and i know a lady that has her sister and she knows the young lady and her dad that has their brother, they are all the same!
The littler Patches came from were semi feral and i hand reared them, so probably it's ingrained to wonder.

Last night Ian took the dogs out for their last walk of the night and Patches usually waits for him at the end of the street and follows him home, when he came in he said she wasn't there, i waited up until 12.30 checking to see if she had come back but no joy, i checked all the usual places that Ian has usually shut her in by accident, Garage, shed, airing cupboard - no Patches, so reluctantly i went to bed.

This morning she was still no where to be seen, Ian took the dogs out for their first walk and on his way back she shot out of somebody's garden further down our street, she was cold and hungry and a little disorientated but very pleased to see Sam and Nancy, hopefully it may have scared her but i doubt it. Cats aren't suppose to like water but yesterday when i was in the bath she jumped in and sat on my chest, why can't we ever have normal pets at our house!

Awww, poor patches. Storm went out this morning, but only for 5 minutes, as usual I was mother hen at the back door and looking out of the window. Someone next door started drilling so he came back in.

If he ends up out all night I dont think I could sleep!

As for "normal" pets, do you really think they would fit in at your house???!!!! Laughing

Cats are great. Coco only really spends the night out in the summer. She goes out every now and then through the winter but not really for long periods of time.

I agree with Sarah about the normal pets Im afraid. Laughing

Hmmmmm scratch I guess i wouldn't know what to do with normal pets.
Sam thinks he's human, Nancy thinks she's his boss, Patches thinks she's a dog and likes to sleep in the guinea pig hutch with the gang if its raining and she's out.......so no normal pets are not our thing! bounce

Folks - i have a different interpretation of whats going on here with your 'less than normal pets'.

All animals are born as equals in much the same way as humans are. What determines their characteristics and 'personalities' is their socialisation and and home environment - just like humans.

Looking at the contributors to this topic thus far i can only come to one conclusion...................Wink

hehe Sean! think your suggestion sounds clearly based on the evidence presented!!!
Hi all! sorry Ive been so slack at keeping in contact, I have no life at mo with work - wrong way round I know! I am planing to join david and margaret on Saturday for their meeting re fundrasing etc - so looking forward to meeting anyone there finally!!!
We also got a new kitten, Gladys, in the summer who has just been spayed and had her stitches out a week or so ago (getting her to the vet in the snow was not much fun!!) But stern advice from the vet - DO NOT LET HER JUMP, BE TOO ACTIVE etc . . . . no chance!!!! She also likes to get in the bath too - especially of there are bubbles! She has fallen in on several occasions but it doesnt seem to deter her!!
She loves tormenting our old boy, Felix, much to his dismay - he appears far too important for any of that kitten play rubbish!!!

Anyway - just wanted to touch base with you after a long time since my last post and hoping to look into and discuss some fundraising on an educational level with you guys on the weekend.

Love kit cat XXX
